As a Warehouse Worker at Grainger, you will play a key role in ensuring efficient operations by performing tasks related to the receipt, storage, and shipment of products. You will follow established processes and procedures to handle inbound and outbound transactions, maintain inventory accuracy, and contribute to a safe, clean, and organized warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Receiving & Stocking:

• Unload and accurately receive incoming shipments.
• Inspect products for damages and ensure they meet quality standards.
• Sort, label, and place materials or items in designated storage areas.

Order Picking & Packing:

• Pick customer orders efficiently and accurately according to system-generated pick lists.
• Pack orders securely, ensuring all items are properly packed and ready for shipment.

Inventory Management:

• Assist with cycle counting, inventory checks, and stock replenishment.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and report discrepancies.

Shipping:

• Prepare products for shipment, ensuring all paperwork and labels are correctly applied.
• Load outgoing shipments into trucks or trailers using appropriate equipment.

Safety & Compliance:

• Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and OSHA guidelines.
• Properly handle hazardous materials and comply with Grainger’s safety and environmental standards.

Housekeeping:

• Keep work areas clean, safe, and organized.
• Perform routine cleaning tasks to maintain a neat working environment.

Equipment Operation:

• Operate powered industrial equipment (PIE) such as forklifts, reach trucks, order pickers, and pallet jacks safely and efficiently.

Process Improvement:

• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize warehouse operations.
• Identify and report process inefficiencies or areas for improvement.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution center is preferred.
• Ability to operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, order pickers) and maintain certification.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet productivity goals.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Work Environment:

• Warehouse environment with varying temperatures depending on the season.
• Must be able to work shifts, including nights and weekends, as required.
