Position Overview:

The Product Security Architect will work within Grainger’s Security Architecture team to create secure designs for Grainger’s global technology footprint. As a key influencer in ensuring the security of Grainger’s custom software solutions, this role focuses on product security and partners closely with product engineering teams, leading deep technical discussions to support the organization’s business goals and strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Research and develop architecture frameworks and services to enable product and application security.
• Define the roadmap for integrating security within Grainger’s portfolio of custom software solutions.
• Work closely with product engineering teams to establish security requirements, evaluate architectures, and recommend optimal solutions.
• Perform risk assessments through threat modeling, design reviews, and security testing.
• Define integration patterns for security tools used by engineering teams as part of their development processes.
• Lead white-boarding exercises and security discussions with Architects, Engineers, and Product Managers.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of hands-on software development and architecture experience.
• 3+ years of information security experience, specifically with product security.
• A college degree in a technical field or equivalent industry experience.
• Security certifications such as CISSP or relevant vendor product certifications.
• In-depth knowledge of cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Familiarity with contemporary software development practices.
• Experience with security frameworks and industry standards.

Compensation:

• Salary range: $143,000.00 - $238,400.00 with a target bonus of 20%.
• Compensation depends on experience, qualifications, and location.
