Position Details:
As a Warehouse Manager at Grainger, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, including inventory management, order fulfillment, and team leadership. You will ensure that warehouse operations run smoothly, efficiently, and safely, while meeting company goals and customer expectations.
You Will:
- Operational Management: Supervise warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping of goods. Ensure adherence to company processes and best practices.
- Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and develop a team of warehouse associates. Conduct performance reviews, provide training, and manage staffing levels to optimize productivity and morale.
- Safety & Compliance: Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to safety standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA). Conduct regular safety audits and address any safety concerns promptly.
- Inventory Control: Oversee inventory management, including stock levels, order accuracy, and product handling. Implement and maintain inventory control systems to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels. Analyze performance metrics and address any issues or bottlenecks.
- Customer Service: Ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment to meet customer expectations. Address any customer complaints or issues related to warehouse operations.
- Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of warehouse activities, including inventory levels, order statuses, and employee performance. Prepare and present reports to senior management as needed.
You Have:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in warehouse or distribution management, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills. Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Knowledge: Understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, and safety regulations. Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.
- Abilities: Excellent problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to lift and move heavy items as needed.
